Wind Over Water is my attempt to paint that moment when the air becomes visible.
Soft blues, silvery greys and sweeping textures suggest wind moving across the surface of the ocean. Dark, instinctive marks catch the eye like small currents, giving the painting a quiet energy with flicks of ink moving like spray or bird flight. There is room to breathe here, but also movement, sense of water continually finding its way. t's a calm piece with a little restless energy underneath, the kind of painting that changes with the light in the room and the mood you're in.
Why you might love it
It brings a quiet, airy coastal feeling to a space without being literal or "beachy."
The pale palette suits bedrooms, reading corners, hallways and calm work spaces.
The texture and ink marks reward a closer look, so you'll keep noticing new details.
